Dedoles with OEKO-TEX® certificate
Cheerful designs = cheerful approach
For us in Dedoles it is important to protect our enviroment as much as we can. Even though we produce millions of products each year, we are still commited to mitigating the effects of our production. That is why we watch closely what our suppliers supply us with and we are taking steps to ensure their compliance with our principles. You can check certificates that we obtained over the years here.
Dedoles with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certificate
Most of our products such as socks, underwear, or swimwear have an active OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certificate and are in compliance with global regulations. You can easily spot those products by observing sticker OEKOTEX® on the product cards. Every thread have been tested against a list of over 1,000 harmful substances and have passed safety tests, which makes them suitable for contact with (even sensitive) skin.
Why is it important?
Chemicals are fundamental for almost all processes of textile production. Taking responsibility for proper chemical management and using greener chemistry mitigates the risk for facility workers, effect on fauna, flora and human health (such as affecting hormonal systems, or causing defects and cancer, amongst others). Further, it protects biodiversity, the oceans and contributes to clean drinking water and fights climate change. The use of greener chemistry seems to be a rational next step for each party in our industry, which means using chemistry principles that nature has been using forever. One of the steps was that OEKO-TEX® has officially banned the intentional use of PFAS in all certified products. PFAS are persistent in the environment due to their low biodegradability and can remain intact for many years. This is why they are often referred to as “forever chemicals”. You will find no PFAS in Dedoles products with OEKO-TEX® certificate.
Independent testing
VÚTCH-CHEMITEX (often referred to in certification documents simply as VÚTCH) is a textile research and testing institute that serves as an authorized certification body for the international OEKO-TEX® association. They provide independent, objective testing for conformity with specific legal regulations and verify compliance with OEKO-TEX® standards. Thanks to their independence, you can trust that the tests are not influenced in any way.
